PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor Course (OWSI)

The OWSI course runs over 4 days (the last 4 days of an IDC) and includes academic, confined water and open water teaching sessions. This course is designed to hone your skills as a dive educator and give you a thorough understanding of how to make best use of the PADI system of diver education. Upon successful completion of this course you will take the instructor Exams (IE). The IE is an independant evaluation of your diving and educational skills.

This part of the IDC is conducted by PADI Course Director Paul Toomer. Paul has been running IDC's all over the world for the past 5 years and is one of the top Course Directors (Platinum status) in the world.

What do I need to start?
  • Be certified as a PADI Assistant Instructor.
  • Have a minimum of 60 logged dives with night, deep and navigation experience. (100 required to attend the Instructor Examination)
  • A valid HSE Dive medical (within 12 months) - contact Roger for more info.
  • Be current with your EFR / CPR & 1st Aid training (within the last 24 months)
  • Be 18 years of age or older.
Course Duration:

This course is run over a 4 days (depending on the size of the classes)

29 April - 2 May 2009 or full IDC from 25 April - 2 May 2009
5 - 8 August 2009 or full IDC from 1 - 8 August 2009

Costs:
  • £450
  • £750 if completing the full Instructor Development Course which includes the Assistant Instructor (AI) course and Open Water Instructor Course (OWSI).
  • Included: Great FUN!!!!, Equipment rental, air fills
  • Not Included: Instructor Crew Pack (£299-Same as for AI so only required once), Application Fees payable to PADI (£94)
