COURSES

Master Scuba Diver Specialties:

We have recently had a lot of interest for several different specialty courses from several divers in our club, so we thought we would put together a package and let you work towards the Master Scuba Diver qualification. This is the highest non-professional rating in the PADI system of diver education. To achieve the status of Master Scuba Diver, you have to complete 5 specialty courses and have logged 50 dives and completed the Rescue Course. Or you could just do the 5 specialties to improve your level of diving and dive some more of the UK! Dive Wimbledon will be running specialty courses over the next few months so that you can combine diving in the UK with extra qualifications. It’s a great way of improving your skills as a diver whilst working towards this qualification, and we will be visiting loads of different sites in the UK, all recommended by our team of instructors.

Drysuit Specialty: A great course that makes sure you are comfortable in a drysuit before taking part in UK diving. Now you can be cosy and warm whilst you dive!

Underwater Navigation Specialty: A really useful course to improve your confidence as a diver. Improve your skills, get lost and find your way back again under supervision of our instructors!

Wreck Specialty: A very popular course, we will take you to one of the top places in the UK for wreck diving for a really enjoyable weekend!

Enriched Air Specialty: Now you can considerably extend your no-decompression time underwater by breathing Nitrox.

Deep Specialty: Go to the maximum limits of recreational diving by going to 40 metres. Understand the risks of deep diving and how to manage them.

Other specialties are available, just ask one of our instructors!

The first course we recommend that you do is the Drysuit specialty course. This will allow you to feel comfortable using the drysuit so that we can go on to do some UK diving and you can stay toasty while you dive! This involves a pool session and 2 open water dives, which we will do at Vobster. We will stay in a bed and breakfast and the next day we will do the Underwater Navigation Specialty. This consists of 3 dives, where you will learn underwater navigation procedures, techniques, planning, organisation and potential problems. You will also be introduced to natural navigation, underwater patterns, distance estimation and further your compass navigation skills. This is a really useful course and greatly improves your confidence as a diver.

One particular course that we have had a lot of interest in is the Wreck Diver specialty. We recommend a weekend in Plymouth where you can complete the 4 dives and maybe even do some more just for fun! Plymouth is a great place to dive and our instructors will take great pleasure in introducing you to some of the amazing wrecks to be found there!

The Enriched Air Specialty is also a popular course with our divers, introducing you to the basic concepts of Nitrox and allowing you to extend your no-decompression limits. The Deep Specialty will be the final course of your Master Scuba Diver course, our instructors will only teach this course to divers who have experience in drysuits and UK diving.

These 5 specialties will normally cost £778 but we are offering them as a package for £608, or £628 of you would like to qualify as a Master Scuba Diver!

If you would like to become a Master Scuba Diver, you must be qualified as a Rescue Diver and have completed 5 specialties and logged 50 dives. If you haven't yet taken the Rescue course this can be completed in conjunction with the Master Scuba Diver Challenge.
